‘Sonic
Bloom’ Vibration, Compounded Crop
Tried Out In Five
Districts Application trial of sonic bloom at Paddy Primary Seed Workshop (BBUP), Banyudono sub-district, Bojolali District is seen as sufficiently successful. Besides more highly paddy crop yield, its quality has increased. In addition, it stands well against any pest attack. The application trial is a cooperation between Banyudono BBUP and The School of Medicine of Diponegoro University, Semarang. The activity is designed to increase higher quality in paddy yield, especially in Bojolali. In recognition of the results of the sonic bloom application trial, the Central Java Governor closely accompanied by the Regent, dr. H. Djaka Srijanta admitted that they are satisfied with the application trial and saw it as successful. “Therefore, we are instructed to socialize it to the farmers altogether directly see the result in the sonic bloom application trial crop,” said Drs. Hasjanan, one of the staff of the Communication Information Bureau of Central Java Province. Five Districts Prof. Dr. Ir. Hadi K. Purwadani Ipm said, sonic bloom constitutes a method of foliar fertilization by manure solution moisture containing trace mineral combined at once together with high frequency wave. Sonic bloom was invented by Dan Carlson from USA and commercially begun distributed as of 1980. Hadi Purwadani said that the use of sound waves under high Frequency will be able to stimulate the statoma (leaf mouth) remain open wide so that it increases the rate of manure absorption efficiency benefiting the plants. The manure used is made of sea weed basic material that contains giberelat acid. Such acid will accelerate the plant growth as well as amino acid and various trace minerals, such as Ca, K, Mg and Cn. Head of Crop Agricultural Service of Central Java Province, Soekamo in observing the crop yield at Banyudono village said that in comparison of paddy production treating under sonic bloom treatment and in non-sonic bloom method has been greatly differed. Under sonic bloom treatment, one hectare could yield 10,04 ton paddy crop, whereas under non-sonic bloom just 4.7 ton. It means that its crop in compound increases, either qualitatively or quantitatively. Extent of paddy area in Central Java, he continued, has been 1.6 million hectares, whereas paddy seed 40,000 hectares. There have been 22,000 ha of paddy plants in Central Java prone to flooding, and 7,000 threatened as unsuccessful. Therefore, it is necessary to take the application trial of which the result has been apparently of proud. Sonic bloom application trial has been taken in several districts in Central Java, not solely for paddy. Besides Bojolali, corn plant in Grobogan, soybean in Demak, in red union Brebes, and fruits in Wonosobo. Soekarno said through sonic bloom echoing around the paddy plant area or other plants as well, the statoma will open up so that it facilitates the fertilization. The sonic bloom under hundred of meters radii could still open the leaf mouth. Staff of BIKK, Drs. Harjanto said the first stage of sonic bloom application trial require investment in sonic bloom equipment, manure, and so on estimated to be worth of Rp. 2 million. The sonic bloom uses storage battery connected to a sort of sound speaker, then produces an echoing sound. This sound echo will open up the statoma. Want to try? Go ahead! Suti Harjoyo (4c).
